Casting is now underway for Steven Spielberg's big budget dinosaur-themed drama series entitled Terra Nova, according to the San Francisco Examiner. In a nutshell, the series concerns a family living in 2149, when Earth is supposedly becoming uninhabitable. The family is transported back to a time when they can join forces with a colony of humans called Terra Nova. Along the way they encounter hungry dinosaurs and other threats.

Often casting calls happen behind closed doors, but the information for this one was released publicly online.

If you can travel to Australia in late August for the filming and think you have what it takes to be a principal actor in the series, you can submit a head shot and resume by mail only to:

Christal Karge

Cami Patton

4640 Lankershim Blvd.

Suite 511

North Hollywood, CA  91602

Four production companies are handling the casting of extras. Detailed information is at this Television Show Auditions page.

A short primer on how to put together a proper headshot and resume for such casting calls can be found here.

If all goes as planned, the series will debut on Fox right after next year's Super Bowl.
