Today naturalist Mark Fraser looks back on the year 2009.

Mark says, "There were so many incredible wildlife adventures to reflect upon this past year and I could not wait to share these with all of you. This film is a compilation of the many wildlife species filmed during 2009. There is no greater joy then the study of the natural world. No matter how many times I hike, kayak or scuba dive in the ocean, I am always mesmerized by the stunning and timeless beauty of the wild species all around us."

"The more I study nature, the more I realize we really are all just a part of the bigger picture of the entire planet. Each species has own ecological niche and is also collectively part of a larger system. There is one massive ecology representing the entire Earth itself and You and I are very much a part of that."

"The choices that we make each and everyday, about they way we live our lives, determine the amount of resources and pollution we create on this planet. This year we discussed the Pacific Garbage Patch and the impact of single-use plastic on wildlife habitat. I think the best thing about this year was how we all learned that we can make a difference. It all starts with learning to love and appreciate the natural world all around us. It's been truly wonderful sharing nature with you during 2009 and I cant wait to see what amazing species we will explore during 2010!"
