This week at Discovery News we told you about a Japanese macaque that flosses her teeth. Jean-Baptiste Leca, a post-doctoral fellow at Kyoto University's Primate Research Institute, led the project and provided the photos.

Note how the monkey uses three flossing techniques:

1. hair intact and pulled by mouth

2. hair intact and held by hand

3. hair pulled out and used as dental floss
