Naturalist Mark Fraser is back to share his latest video on katydids.
Mark tells me, "Katydids are true masters of the art of camouflage. As they graze in grasses and wild meadows on plant matter, they do so trusting that their incredible ability to blend in with their surroundings will protect them."
He adds, "Looking closely at this beautiful species with a magnifying glass or zoom lens simply demonstrates the mastery of their art. Their wings have every detail that you would find on a true leaf. Species like the Broad-winged Bush Katydid are famous for their ability to appear to be counting as their call adds another chirp with each new chorus."
