Pet Halloween Costumes Nearly Double in

'12: Is your pitbull going Trick or Treating in a tutu this Halloween? You're not alone. Americans are planning to spend 40 percent more on Halloween costumes for their pets than

they did in 2010, the Huffington Post reports.

In dollars, they're planning on spending $370 million,

according to the National Retail Federation.

U.S. spending on pets in total surpassed $50 billion last

year for the first time; average Americans will spend $79.82 this year on Halloween.

Now that's a sign of

economic recovery!
