Hot Pink Angelfish Glows: A glowing, hot-pink angelfish is the latest in a long line of genetically engineered flourescent fish, reports the
Taipei Times.
Taiwanese engineers injected a protein from coral into anglefish eggs, initially
successfully raising just one pink fish per 10,000 eggs. After three years of testing, the success rate
rose to 1 percent.
The company conducting the research, Jy Lin Trading Co, received an offer of almost
$3,500 for a single fish.
Needless to say, you won't be seeing these at your pet store anytime soon.
