Giant George, named the world’s tallest dog — and the Tallest Dog Ever — by the Guinness Book of World Records, died just one month shy of his 8th birthday.
The 245-pound blue Great Dane stretched 43 inches from paw to shoulder and stood a towering 7 feet, 3 inches when on his hind legs.
He passed away at his home in Tuscon, Ariz. on Oct. 17, 2013, with his owners Dave and Christie Nasser at his side.
In a post on George’s Facebook page, the Nasser’s wrote: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce Giant George died last night….We appreciate the love and support you have given Giant George over the last several years.”
“We look forward to honoring his spirit by continuing his charitable works.”
