Family Dog Killed Over Looks: Lennox, an American pit-bull and Labrador mix lived for seven years with his family before the Belfast City Council in Ireland spotted him and took him away two years ago for being an illegal pitbull terrier type, according to news reports. Recently the Northern Ireland Court of Appeals concluded the case siding with the city council's decision to have the dog put down. This morning Lennox was "humanely put to sleep" for the sake of public safety, according to the council's website, despite the fact that the greatest safety risk from this dog seems to be to the council members from other humans upset at their decision.
