Dog Named Blue Stirs Up Town: A New Mexico dog named Blue is waiting for his lawyer to find out whether he's allowed to roam free, or be confined to his air-conditioned dog house. Local leash laws in Elephant Butte say he must be on a lead, but Blue doesn't belong to any one person since he was abandoned as a pup a decade ago. Oh, people have tried to adopt him, but Blue prefers to hang out at the general store, where he gets snacks and scratches.
But complaints about Blue have begun to escalate; some say he growls and others say he nips. Still others bring their kids to the store to let them play with Blue and say he's a harmless Australian shephard.
