Sept. 17, 2011 -- The venerable institution of the Guinness World Records announced its newest entrants this week, among them the youngest persons to accomplish two amazing feats.

Barrington Irving (Jamaica/USA, b. 11 November 1983), an aerospace student at Florida Memorial University, circumnavigated the globe in Inspiration, manufactured and assembled by the Columbia Aircraft Manufacturing Company, between 23 March and 27 June 2007. His landmark 97-day flight was also the first ever solo circumnavigation flight by a black pilot.

Samantha Larson (USA, b. 7 October 1988) is the youngest female to have climbed the seven highest summits on each of the seven continents. She reached the seventh and final peak, the Carstensz Pyramid, on 4 August 2007, aged 18 years 300 days.
Samantha climbed the Seven Summits alongside her dad David, which makes them the first father-and-daughter team to do so. Samantha also became the youngest non-Nepalese female to conquer Everest.
