Alaskan women are tough.
As her family is running low on food, and her husband is out trying to shoot a bear, Jane takes it upon herself to head out into Kachemak Bay for some fishing. It might be a man's world on the bay, but she's "not sittin' here crying about it… (she) can fish as well as any guy out here."
Using a piece of wood, Jane crushes up some fish into chum and lowers it into the bay.
Fishing isn't a quick process, so Jane has to sit in the cold April weather to wait… via Discovery Channel
