Skateboarding in Burma? Really? Yup. (Video)

//

This one’s been out for a couple months now, with the footage itself from 2009, but it’s new to me (thanks to BBC News) so I’ll pass it along. You really need to see this. So cool.

Three skateboarders go to Burma, find an old skatepark in Yangon (maybe built by the Japanese or British years ago, no one can remember) and local skaters, teach English in Mandalay and make a documentary about it—with good commentary and good skateboarding at the same time.

Oh and the look on the young Buddhist monks faces when they try to skate for the first time is just great.

It’s 19 minutes definitely well spent.
