What an Outdoor Photographer Should *Not* Do

A while ago, I wrote 10 Tips for Taking Great Outdoor Photos with photographer Phil Langer. They were suggestions on what to DO with a camera out in the wilderness — including using a tripod, composing a shot, and placing the horizon — but there are some DON’Ts out there too. In this find by Adventure Journal, photographer Kurtis Hough (who coincidentally uses some of the aforementioned suggestions) discovers one particular DON’T in outdoor photography — and via the hard (and costly) way.

(Wait for it… wait for it…)

If we should all learn from our mistakes, I’m definitely going to learn from his. Sorry, Kurtis.
