As the Climate Heats Up, So Will Food Prices: The fastest way to a man's heart is through his stomach, but the fastest way to his stomach might soon be to much for the wallet. If climate change continues unabated many of our foods — used to more tempered weather — will become more expensive.
According to New Scientist, farmers around the world will face two challenges as the climate shifts, both of which will drive up food prices. They will have to "cut their own greenhouse gas emissions and at the same time cope with the consequences of the climate change that does occur such as more extreme weather events."
