This short film captures the superhuman efforts of one of the best climbers in the world, working on a 5.14d sport climbing route and giving us a glimpse into his world.

After six weeks of work and 30 attempts, Jonathan Siegrist sends the first ascent of an incredibly difficult sport route in Arrow Canyon, Nevada, dubbed “Le Reve”.

“It was exactly what I was looking for – a route that would demand a new levels of dedication, physical strength, and mental fortitude from me. It was of course frustrating, ego-crushing, and difficult throughout, but in the end it was a dream come true. I named the route ‘Le Reve’, meaning ‘The Dream’ in French.” – Jonathan Siegrist

What an inspiring climb, even for those of us who will never set foot on a 5.14 route!
