Bicycle Bar-ista Holds Your Coffee While You Spin

It’s getting to be that time of year when a travel cup full of hot coffee right by our side is welcome, no matter what form of transportation we use. And if juggling a mug of java while riding your bike to work isn’t your cup of tea, get a helping hand from the Bar-ista.

Bike commuters can take their joe on the go with this little gadget from Portland Design Works. Just clamp the Bar-ista onto your handlebars, slip your cup inside it, make sure the top is on tight, and pedal to your heart’s content, taking slurps of your favorite hot beverage whenever you like.

The Bar-ista fits handlebars up to 26″ in diameter, and weighs in at about 2.5 ounces (71 grams). The company suggests that the Bar-ista works best with OXO travel mugs, but will fit other cups, depending on their dimensions (the opening for cups on the Bar-ista measures 3.125″ in diameter at the top, tapering down to 2.95″ at the bottom.)

The Bar-ista is available from Portland Design Works for $20.
